Greetings readers,
I hope that you all are doing well tonight, or today depending on your side of the hemisphere. I apologize for the long radio silence, and the lack of updates. I wanted to make this announcement after I finished Episode 9, but with the way things are currently paced, it could take me a few more months and I don’t think I can wait that long.
After seven years in production, I have decided to stop working on The Shufflers. My heart is no longer fully in it. The series was originally just a bunch of one shot stories, but as it slowly evolved to something more, it lost a lot of it’s footing in terms of writing and direction. But flaws aside, I feel like part of its spirit simply died out. This was probably one of the hardest decisions I had to make, but one that I feel is necessary. I still have a dew pages left to color and draw, but after coming to the realization that I needed to put Shufflers down, it has been relatively difficult to finish any of it. I will still do what I can to conclude Episode 9, as I am not a big fan of cliffhangers. It may take months or a few weeks if I can get myself to draw up the next set of pages, but it is hard to say right now. Once it is complete, there will be no further updates.
For now. Possibly.
I don’t want to believe that this is a permanent end. I’ve seen comics getting picked back up years later so I’d like to believe in that possibility. We shall see.
Despite the sadness of the situation, this webcomic has been blessed with some of the nicest, generous and most supportive of readers. I can’t express how much it meant to me, and my creative contributor, to see your comments and feedback over the years.
I cannot thank you all enough for your support.
That said, I still have a couple years on this domain, so I’ll keep the website up and running for as long as possible. However, I have disabled the shops and the tip jar.
I hope you enjoyed reading this comic as much as I enjoyed drawing it. It’s certainly been an incredible ride and I’ve learned so much.
Farewell, and until we meet again!
